We are proud to introduce Pasifika Arts Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the vibrant cultural heritage of Polynesia.
We are very excited to have this longtime wish become a reality.
Our nonprofit was established in December 2024.
Pasifika Arts Project is comprised of board members Trisha Baeza (founder), Ilene Ulep and Luis Stoner. Advisors are Regina Stoner, Shaylei Dickson, and Victor Rosales. With the exception of Luis, all board members and advisors are seasoned artists within the local dance and music community. All are acutely aware of the high costs associated with art classes in general, and even more so for culturally specific options offered by private vendors.
This awareness prompted them to explore ways to make the arts more accessible and create a broader selection of affordable opportunities in the Fresno area. For years, Trisha and her sister Regina had dreamed of establishing some sort of framework to provide these type of events.
By late 2024, this vision had gained support from several others who shared the same passion and commitment. Together, they decided to form a nonprofit organization to introduce, develop, and expand exposure to Polynesian arts through community-centered events and activities.
Our mission is to provide affordable, high-quality events that highlight the cultures of Polynesia. These events aim to offer participants and audiences of all ages opportunities to dance, sing, play music, and create art while fostering connections through artistic expression. These activities are designed to inspire, offer meaningful experiences, and pay homage to traditional storytelling, all while creating a strong sense of community and honoring cultural heritage.
